Catching Up on Indivisible
Hello Friends,
Because of you and your generous support, it has been a busy couple of months since Indivisible's Kickstarter campaign.
In December, Indivisible accompanied Renata as she reunited with her family in Brazil after more than six years of separation. She finally arrived at her family's home in the very early hours of Christmas Eve, where a welcome party--complete with a disco ball--awaited her!

A month after the trip, Renata reflected on the experience: "It was completely normal to see my brother, sister, and mom every day even though I hadn't seen them in six years. It was like nothing had changed and I was a real part of the family again. I got to go on vacations, to the movies, cook dinner, build inside jokes, and even argue with them. It was amazing and I couldn't have asked for a better trip. I got to do everything I ever wanted to do, including rappelling off a cliff. (My dad wasn't too happy about that one.) I felt privileged for the opportunity to be with my family, something I know many don't get to do."

In February, Indivisible attended United We Dream's annual Congress in Phoenix, Arizona. Evelyn, Renata, and Antonio shared their stories with the group of 500 Dreamers. Renata led a discussion about how to travel abroad like she did.

Fwd.us--a policy advocacy group founded by technology industry leaders including Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates--continues to run blog posts written by some of the Dreamers featured in Indivisible. The latest posts are from Antonio and Luis.
In addition to filming, Indivisible has been busy applying for grants to cover editing costs and exploring distribution options to ensure that as many people as possible have the opportunity to see the film. Last month, I was invited to speak on a panel about Indie Film Financing at the Annapolis Film Festival, where I talked about lessons learned from Indivisible's successful Kickstarter campaign.
Today, I am heading to Boston for a week of filming with Renata, and I'll be sure to send another update soon.
